Die neue Technologie der Laser-Fernseher könnte bereits in zwei Jahren auf den Markt kommen. Das meint der Bonner Universitätsprofessor Karsten Buse in einem Interview mit Pressetext.

At the end of 2006, the electronics market was quiet. Customers did not buy TVs at that time as they thought that prices would decrease as the result of Vietnam’s membership in the WTO. Electronics producers then sent word to customers that the prices would not decrease any more, because the tax rates on TV accessories imported from ASEAN countries, the main suppliers for Vietnamese assemblers, would not decrease.

Move over, LCD and plasma. A high-definition television technology that uses lasers is making its way to store shelves, possibly in time for the next holiday shopping season.

Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Novalux says at least two branded TV manufacturers will roll out large-screen, rear-projection television sets using its solid-state laser technology, a move it hopes will give it a foothold in the red-hot market.

"We have two TV brands that want to have some laser TVs on the shelves in time for the holiday selling season," said Jean-Michel Peleprat, chief executive of Novalux. "But the mass volume for laser TV, with several brands, will come in 2008."

Peleprat wouldn't identify which two TV makers he's working with due to nondisclosure agreements. He expects the first models to be 50-inch sets or larger with full HDTV-standard resolution.
